Newpol have recently completed the construction of a new performing arts hub at Box Hill High school. The ground floor in corporates large Music, band, media and drama classrooms as well as some smaller rehearsal areas. The largest consideration is the incredibly stringent acoustic requirements to prevent sound attenuation from one space to the next. On the first floor is a large performing arts hall with reticulated seating system, stage area, box office, entry hall and amenities block. Once again acoustics was of upmost importance. A new elevated walkway provides access to the main school building and the outside facade is to be clad in adjustable perforated metalwork screens.
